6G-MUSICAL Project Showcases at CSNDSP 2024
The 6G-MUSICAL project is delighted to announce its participation in the 14th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks, and Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP 2024), held from July 17 to 19 in Rome, Italy. The symposium, renowned for advancing communication systems, networks, and digital signal processing, provided an exceptional platform for our team to present our latest research findings.

- At this prestigious event, the 6G-MUSICAL team presented their paper titled “MU-MIMO and Multi-beam ISAC Hybrid Beamforming Design.” This paper introduces an innovative algorithm for designing hybrid beamforming matrices in multi-user and multi-beam Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) scenarios. This research represents a significant step in our commitment to enhancing communication and radio-sensing integration for Beyond 5G (B5G) networks.
- In addition to the first paper, the 6G-MUSICAL team presented a second paper at CSNDSP 2024 titled “Networked ISAC Coordinated Beamforming and Cooperative BS Cluster Optimization”. This work delves into optimising and balancing Sensing and Communication (S&C) performance within Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) networks. Notably, while optimizing for communication objectives tends to focus on maximizing Area Spectral Efficiency (ASE) through spatial resource utilization, sensing objectives prioritize resource allocation towards interference cancellation. Our simulation results demonstrate that the proposed cooperative ISAC scheme offers substantial improvements in S&C performance, marking a significant advancement in the field.
CSNDSP has been held biennially since 1998. It has grown in size and impact and consistently attracted around 200 delegates from across the globe. Recognised as a leading international forum, the symposium facilitates the presentation and exchange of research findings, fostering discussions on future research directions in communication systems, networks, digital signal processing, and related areas.
In addition to paper presentations, CSNDSP allows researchers to engage in workshops, tutorials, and open discussions on emerging research topics. This year’s symposium continued to build on its tradition of excellence, providing a fertile ground for collaboration and innovation.
