6G-MUSICAL Project Showcased at ISWCS 2024!

We are thrilled to announce that the 6G-MUSICAL project was showcased at the International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems 2024 (ISWCS 2024) held from July 14-17 in Brazil!

This prestigious event is dedicated to advancing wireless communication systems and their applications. It brought together the international community to share and discuss state-of-the-art developments in the field.

ISWCS 2024 featured plenary talks by leading researchers, as well as poster and oral sessions, where participants presented their pioneering work. Two 6G-MUSICAL papers were presented in two special sessions.

The first paper, ,” was presented in the Special Session “Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces Enabling 6G Communication.” This research is a critical component of our ongoing work in Work Package 4 (WP4 “Network Synchronisation, Cloud Radio-Sensing and Resource Allocation”), which focuses on developing resource allocation algorithms and techniques for cellular network sensing. The paper introduces a novel resource allocation and computational technique that enables cellular networks to estimate multiple parameters of passive objects with significantly lower computational complexity compared to previous methods.

The second paper, “Adaptive Power Management for Maximising Spectral Efficiency and QoS in Cell-Free Systems”, was presented in the special session titled ‘Advances in Multiple Antenna Systems and Applications. ‘ This work is also part of WP4 and is centred on resource allocation techniques in cell-free multi-antenna networks. The paper proposes innovative power control algorithms designed to maximise spectral efficiency while ensuring Quality of Service (QoS) requirements are met in cell-free systems. This research represents an intermediary step towards comprehensive resource allocation for both communication and sensing in cell-free networks.

The 6G-MUSICAL project’s participation at the ISWCS 2024 underscores our commitment to pushing the boundaries of wireless communication technology and contributing to the future of cellular networks.
