6G-MUSICAL partner leads Tutorial at the IEEE MeditCom 2024
We are pleased to announce that Prof Christos Masouros (UCL), a key partner from the 6G-MUSICAL project, presented an insightful tutorial at the IEEE International Mediterranean Conference on Communications and Networking (MeditCom 2024).
The tutorial, titled “Sustainable and Multi-functional 6G Networks and Beyond: What Signal Processing Can Do,” addressed the future of global cellular infrastructure and its crucial role in supporting applications such as smart city solutions, urban security, infrastructure monitoring, and smart mobility. Prof Christos Masouros explored cutting-edge research on Symbol-Level Precoding (SLP) approaches, which utilize interference as a resource in multi-antenna systems, resulting in significant power savings.
Furthermore, the session delved into the innovative field of Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC), showcasing how this paradigm shift allows for the integration of sensing and communication functionalities within a single transmission and spectrum. This dual functionality supports the reduction of hardware redundancy and carbon footprint, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for sustainability, resilience, and inclusivity.
MeditCom 2024 attracted over 200 attendees from across the globe, highlighting the international interest and significance of these advanced topics. The 6G-MUSICAL project’s contributions at this conference underscore our commitment to pioneering sustainable and multifunctional wireless network technologies.
