The 6G-MUSICAL project has released its deliverable D2.3 “Business Models and Sustainability Impact”, presenting intermediate results on how sustainability and business models can be jointly designed for future 6G systems, including Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC).

The deliverable was presented in January 2026 at the SNS JU Sustainability Working Group, a high-level forum gathering representatives from SNS-funded projects to exchange and align on sustainability strategies for next-generation networks. 6G-MUSICAL was represented by consortium partner University of Oulu, with Marja Matinmikko, author of the deliverable and leader of the task on business models and sustainability.

D2.3 introduces a novel framework that integrates business model innovation with environmental, social, and economic sustainability pillars, positioning sustainability as a core design principle for 6G rather than an add-on. It also proposes an integrated sustainability assessment approach, links sustainability to strategic management actions, and provides preliminary sustainability guidelines for 6G business with ISAC.
