6G-MUSICAL Co-Organises ISAC Workshop at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025!

The 6G-MUSICAL project proudly co-organised Workshop 10: Integrated Sensing and Communications Initiative on the European Research Framework during the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025 in Poznań, Poland.

The workshop brought together researchers, industry representatives, and standardisation experts from across Europe’s Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) ecosystem to discuss the latest advances in Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC), one of the key enabling technologies for future 6G networks.

As an active contributor to the workshop, 6G-MUSICAL participated alongside numerous Horizon Europe SNS projects, helping present the current European research landscape and foster collaboration towards next-generation Joint Communication and Sensing (JCAS) technologies.

The programme featured four thematic panels covering:

PHY layer research, highlighting cutting-edge ISAC technologies and signal processing innovations;
System-level improvements, exploring architectural developments and network integration;
Real-life experiences, showcasing practical demonstrations and deployment scenarios;
Standardisation activities, bringing together experts from ETSI, 3GPP, IETF, industry, and academia to discuss the future evolution of ISAC standards.

Representing 6G-MUSICAL, Christos Masouros contributed to the discussions on PHY-layer research, sharing insights into the project’s work on Joint Communication and Sensing technologies and their role in future 6G systems.

The workshop served as an important coordination platform for European ISAC research, strengthening collaboration between SNS JU projects while identifying common research priorities, technology challenges, and opportunities for future standardisation.

Through initiatives such as this workshop, 6G-MUSICAL continues to contribute to shaping Europe’s vision for intelligent, sensing-enabled 6G networks by promoting collaboration across research, industry, and standardisation communities.
