6G-MUSICAL at the SNS JU / 6G-IA & 5G-ACIA Webinar: Advancing ISAC/JCAS Research!
On 10 October 2025, the 6G-MUSICAL project was proudly represented at the workshop “6G-IA and 5G-ACIA Highlights, Lessons learnt and next steps on ISAC/JCAS”, organised by 6G IA and the 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA), with support from the SNS CO-OP project.
Prof. Izzat Darwazeh (UCL) presented the project’s motivation, benefits, and innovative work on Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) / Joint Communication and Sensing (JCAS) use cases. The presentation highlighted:
ISAC Scenarios and Architecture Considerations: How the 6G-MUSICAL sensing architecture supports a wide range of integrated sensing, positioning, and communication scenarios.
UE/BS-Based Bistatic Sensing Examples: Illustrating 4 concrete scenarios, with Scenario 2 and Scenario 3 relaxing inherent trade-offs between transmitter and receiver sides, compared to Scenario 1.
Collaboration with other SNS JU projects: Joint achievements were showcased alongside projects including 6G-DISAC, iSEE-6G, Multi-X, ECO-eNET, and 6G-REFERENCE.
The workshop offered key insights, lessons learned, and next steps in ISAC/JCAS, providing participants with a clear view of current research progress, standardisation efforts, and future opportunities in 5G and 6G networks.
Through this event, 6G-MUSICAL continues to advance 6G ISAC/JCAS technologies, fostering collaboration between EU-funded initiatives, industry, and research communities.
