The 6G‑MUSICAL consortium is proud to announce its active participation in the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) 2024, to be held from 8–12 December in Cape Town, South Africa. The project will be represented through key leadership roles in the WS‑10: Workshop on Integrated Sensing and Communications for Edge Intelligence.

• Prof. Christos Masouros (UCL, IEEE Fellow), 6G‑MUSICAL Technical Coordinator, is a Steering Committee member, shaping the scientific direction of the workshop.

• Dr. Kaitao Meng (UCL), an active 6G‑MUSICAL researcher, serves as Workshop Co‑Chair, leading the organization and structure of the event.

About WS‑10: Integrated Sensing and Communications for Edge Intelligence

WS‑10 focuses on a transformative paradigm for 6G where Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) converges with edge intelligence to enable smart, low-latency, and secure wireless ecosystems. As 6G aims to integrate sensing capabilities directly into communication systems, this workshop explores architectures and technologies that empower intelligent sensing at the network edge, utilizing AI, massive MIMO, novel waveforms, and advanced signal processing.

This theme aligns perfectly with 6G‑MUSICAL’s core mission: to design secure, multi-functional, and AI-driven ISAC systems that support low-latency, energy-efficient, and adaptive communications and sensing. The project’s work on waveform design, beamforming, ML algorithms, and edge computing frameworks directly contributes to the workshop’s topics of interest, such as edge AI for ISAC, spectrum optimization, and next-generation MIMO technologies.

Why This Matters

This high-level presence at GLOBECOM reaffirms 6G‑MUSICAL’s role in shaping the global research agenda for 6G. Through contributions to WS‑10, the project helps build consensus around the enabling technologies for the future Internet of Everything (IoE), bridging academia and industry in pursuit of smarter, more efficient wireless networks.
